Lyse Doucet, at our 18th Annual Meeting in Milan

Inspiring words from Lyse Doucet, Chief International Correspondent for the BBC, who joined us at our Annual Meeting in Milan with a message of hope.

Lyse spoke about “the special, special work that EMERGENCY does” for our patients, like those we’ve treated at our Rehabilitation and Social Reintegration Centre in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq: “EMERGENCY gave them hope. It fixed their legs, it fixed their arms, it allowed them to go back into the world.”

It was an opportunity to reflect on the importance of what we do: “We don’t just walk in the margins of history – sometimes we walk in the middle of it.”
