Cornwall Resident Begins Epic 520-Mile Pyrenees Hike for EMERGENCY

Everyone at EMERGENCY UK is cheering on the wonderful Nic Beretta, who has started a two-month, 47 stage, 40,000 metre elevation, 520 mile/840km-long hike through the Pyrenees to raise money for EMERGENCY.

Nic is tackling the menacing GR11 trail, one of the longest hiking routes in Europe, in aid of EMERGENCY, Amnesty International and the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

His eight-week journey will be documented on his website where readers can track his progress in real-time via GPS, view photos taken along the journey and donate to one or more of the charities.

“I was shocked by the events unfolding in Ukraine and decided to help raise money for three organisations supporting victims of war and human rights,” Nik says. “Any contribution will mean a lot to me and to plenty of other human beings.”

We are in awe – a truly remarkable feat! He is already well underway and making steady progress, but would very much appreciate your support. Every donation makes a huge difference so please head to his fundraising page here to support his incredible challenge.

Thank you so much, and a massive thank you to Nic for this unbelievable fundraising!
