Lashkar- Gah: “We Are Here to Help.”

Fighting has been ongoing for days now in Lashkar-Gah, Southern Afghanistan. It is taking place close to our hospital.

“The fighting is right outside and we had to move patients to the most protected areas of the hospital, away from the windows” says Viktor, Medical Coordinator at the EMERGENCY’s Surgical Centre for War Victims in Lashkar-Gah.

Yesterday we distributed a leaflet on the streets of the city with the coordinates of the hospital, asking all parties to respect this facility and ensure it is not put in danger.

We are also circulating it on social media channels, to give it as much visibility as possible.

On the roof of the hospital we have displayed the banner you see in the photo, so that even from above it is clear what the building stands for: a hospital ready to offer care to those in need.

“We are here to help”.
