Sudan: ‘Behind The Scenes’
When most people think about a hospital, they often think of patients, nurses, and doctors, and rarely about those that work ‘behind the scenes’. But the ‘non-medical’ team at EMERGENCY’s Salam Centre for Cardiac Surgery in Khartoum comprises of 82 cleaners, 41 guards, 10 technicians, 10 gardeners, 3 tailors, 9 cooks and 36 kitchen staff.
All of them are locals and the hospital couldn’t function without them. In the midst of a difficult socio-economic situation in Sudan, the Salam Centre has created lots of employment opportunities for local people. Thank you all so much for everything you do!
