More Than 12,000 Children Have Been Seen in the One Year Since Our Paediatric Centre in Nyala Reopened.

“The humanitarian situation in South Darfur is very difficult. A large part of the population lives in extreme poverty without access to basic health services. The high rate of malnutrition makes the needs of the youngest children increasingly urgent.”

More than 12,000 children have received check-ups in the one year since our Paediatric Centre in Nyala reopened.

“It was a great satisfaction to have the Centre reopened,” says Laura, our Medical Coordinator.

The Centre fulfils an integral role in the local area, providing free treatment to patients up to 14 years of age, carrying out health promotion activities and screening for malnutrition.

Since the reopening, the number of patients has increased steadily, month after month. And with the arrival of winter, we are preparing to receive even more children affected by seasonal diseases that aggravate already fragile health conditions.
