EMERGENCY Reopens First Aid Post in Sangin

In the districts around Lashkar-Gah, six First Aid Posts operate to give immediate assistance to wounded people. In these facilities, local nurses offer first aid to patients, who are then transferred to our hospital via our ambulance network if required.

In May 2016, violent clashes in the area forced us to close the First Aid Post in Sangin in order to protect the safety of our patients and staff. During 2017, despite our best efforts, it was impossible to reopen the facility due to security conditions.

This year, reopening became a reality: in October, we finally managed to open a new First Aid Post in Sangin that will guarantee easier access to treatment for those living in the area.
