EMERGENCY to Host Fourth Annual Medical Seminar

EMERGENCY are organising the 4th Seminar on High Quality Surgery and Medicine in War Torn and in Low Income Areas in Venice, Italy.
Date: 18th-19th May 2018
Venue: EMERGENCY – Giudecca 212, 30133 VENICE
The aim of the seminar is to provide participants with the basic principles of the treatment of patients in low income and war-torn Countries.
Participation in the seminar is open to professionals with little or no experience of working in low income countries.
The seminar intends to prepare any medical professional (Anaesthetists, Cardiologists and Cardiac Surgeons, Emergency Medicine Doctors, Laboratory Technicians, General and Orthopaedic Surgeons, Internal Medicine Doctors, Obstetricians, Gynaecologists and Midwives, Paediatricians and Neonatologists, Perfusionists, Physiotherapists) who would like to join the EMERGENCY team.
The seminar schedule will be organised as follows: on Day 1 (Friday 18 May), all participants will attend a plenary session presenting an overview of EMERGENCY’s activities, hospital organisation and the basic medical and nursing principles of patient treatment; on Day 2 (Saturday 19 May), each participant will attend specific sessions focusing on the techniques and clinical management particular to his/her specialisation. Lectures will be delivered by EMERGENCY personnel with extensive field experience.
English is the official language of the seminar and places are limited.
The selection of attendees will be based on candidates’ profiles and CVs, previous professional and humanitarian experiences, and commitment to working with EMERGENCY.
The Seminar will be accredited with CME credits.
The cost of the seminar is €350 for General, Cardio and Orthopaedic Surgeons, Anaesthetists, Internal Medicine Doctors, Emergency Medicine Doctors, Cardiologists, Obstetricians, Gynaecologists and Paediatricians; €200 for Midwives, Physiotherapists, Laboratory Technicians, Perfusionists and Nurses; €100 for Residents. The fee includes CME credits, all scientific documents and meals.
Participants are responsible for traveling costs to and from Venice, as well as accommodation arrangements.
Enrolment fees will be spent entirely on the organisation of the seminar.
