International Nurses Day 2020

“To do this job, you must understand that it is a state of mind and soul. I never allow myself to give up, the purpose is to give the best service possible, to never leave patients alone, to make them trust you.”

This is what Stoja, EMERGENCY nurse and Medical Coordinator at EMERGENCY’s Paediatric Clinic in Mayo, says being a nurse means to her.

Nurses are the backbone of healthcare systems, bringing incredible expertise, courage, determination, and an extraordinary sense of care. Medical treatment is nothing without taking care of the patient’s dignity, and this is the oath that our nurses fulfil every single day on our wards.

The current circumstances mean that nurses are under even more pressure than normal. We want to thank them for their work, and send them all our strength and encouragement.
