Solidarity Includes a Sense of Responsibility Towards Everyone Else
“We really need to make sure that the entire system is organised as if we were all infected, as everyone could spread the virus. So, protection of everybody, of every segment, department within hospitals.” Rossella Miccio
Yesterday evening, our president Rossella was hosted by InsideStory, Al Jazeera programme, to discuss how the Italian experience of COVID-19 may become a baseline of dos and don’ts for other countries.
While defining some essential steps that healthcare systems should implement to prevent and contain the contagion, she had the opportunity to talk about our ongoing work across the country. We are doing our best to lend a hand, from delivering vulnerable people food to helping medical staff define the correct protocols to apply in hospitals, medical facilities, and homeless shelters.
And while applying these rules, we need to remember: “Everybody needs this mindset – that I have to protect others from myself because I might be contagious.” Rossella Miccio.
Solidarity includes a sense of responsibility towards everyone else.
