Sudan: The Salam Centre for Cardiac Surgery Turns 12 Today!

The Salam Centre for Cardiac Surgery turns 12 today!

That’s 12 years of free healthcare for those who need it most.

The hospital is located in Khartoum, Sudan, but since performing our first surgery on 19 April 2007, we’ve received patients from 30 countries.

In addition to training Sudanese specialists and students, we’ve provided completely free healthcare to over 75,000 patients at the Salam Centre, with the help of medical professionals from both Sudan and further afield.

To mark the occasion, we stopped by to have a look around and meet some of the incredible people who make our work possible.
