International Day of the Midwife 2019

One child at a time, one life at a time, midwives are an essential part of creating a safe environment for women and new-borns.

..and EMERGENCY knows this well. At the Anabah Maternity Centre in Afghanistan, our midwives have been doing an extraordinary job ever since we opened in 2003.

It’s been a long journey to where we are now, with over 600 births at the Centre every month, but we continue to work towards our goal of assuring female healthcare support across the region and beyond. Our incredibly committed midwifery team play a huge part.
