‘Ahad Abdulah, who is 10 years old, suffered facial injuries when a bomb landed near him as he and his family fled their home in Mosul. His mother, three sisters and two brothers were killed. His father, Firas, wasn’t injured.
“I have reached a point where I feel nothing anymore,” Firas told me. “Really, I would rather die.”’
