On the evening of Thursday, 9 October, RCS is hosting a free screening of Long Night, a documentary exploring 25 years of EMERGENCY’s work in Afghanistan.

Created by Emmy award-winning journalist and filmmaker Lynzy Billing, Long Night shares a rare look at Afghanistan, a country suffering the aftermath of decades of war, through intimate interviews with the healthcare workers who have continued to provide care through it all.

Join us again on Friday, 10 October, at the Global Surgical Frontiers Conference 2025 to help shape the future of global surgical initiatives, 10 years on from the Lancet Commission.
