Afghanistan: “How Many Generations Did Afghanistan Lose to This Cursed War?”
“Salim just called me. He received a call from Sangin, one of Afghanistan’s most dangerous areas in the south of the country. A drone killed six people and three wounded patients are being taken to our First Aid Post. The last 48 hours have been terrible. After a period of relative calm, the area was hit by bombing.
The day before yesterday, we received four children at the hospital in Lashkar-Gar: 9, 6, 4, and 3 years’ old. Three boys and a girl. They were hit by a rocket form a helicopter flying above their house. They had wounds on their abdomens and chests, and were full of shrapnel.
The day after, two guys, 25 and 27 years old, and two sisters, 7 and 15 years old, arrived. They had all been hit by a bomb that they told us had killed another 10 people.
Then in the last few hours, four wounded patients arrived: two were dead on arrival, and the other two died right after. After that, another family, a mother with four sons, one of whom was dead on arrival.
How many generations did Afghanistan lose to this cursed war?”
