Iraq: Euronews Reports from EMERGENCY’s Rehabilitation Centre in Sulaymaniyah

Earlier this week, Monica Pinna of Euronews visited the EMERGENCY Centre for Rehabilitation and Social Reintegration in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq. During her trip, she met patients and staff at the facility, which has treated over 5,000 war victims since it opened in 1998. One staff member interviewed is Mustafa Hawar, EMERGENCY’s Programme Coordinator in Iraq. He told Euronews about the types of injuries that his team at the facility deal with, providing prostheses, rehabilitation and vocational training in order for patients to be fully reintegrated within society.

The Euronews piece also includes a short documentary demonstrating the free, high-quality healthcare that EMERGENCY provides in Sulaymaniyah every single day.
